So many people shared a story regarding thier relatives or others that had lost a home, husband, child and more. Perhaps a section for stories would be good on our site.

I think there is a real lack of resources out there for folks with odd homes. I've talked to people from all over the country who have old churches (we live in one), barns, silos, treehouses and undergrounds who have a heck of a time finding contractors, subcontractors, insurance and financing.

While I think we all realize that owning an unusual home is of course extra work sometimes it really does feel like the status quo is trying to squash any artistic vision and fit all homes into the newest subdivision. It's just a shame that it's so difficult to reuse, recycle, and retrofit. The added weight of the current financial crisis is going to make not only owning your dream home difficult for everyone but it's going to endanger artists in a way that can impact our culture for decades.
